I am licenced by the CNO (College of Nurses of Ontario) a body that defines the scope to which I can clinically practice; as well as the standards of practice I must meet. The CNO is also the source of best practice guidelines for nursing practice in Ontario. Additionally I work at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto Ontario, which is a unionized hospital with ONA (Ontario Nursing Association) representing and protecting our wages and working conditions. Sunnybrook also has high cultural standards of care, which flow within the guidance and requirements of the CNO and ONA.

I work in a highly inter-disciplinary team of clinicians to include (but not exclusively): MDs, RNs, Respiratory Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, non-licensed personnel, researchers, medical imagining personnel, security, EMS/First Responders and many others. Sunnybrook is a large teaching hospital and as such has many members to the health care team. We work together on a daily basis providing direct care to patients as well as working in a network to strengthen our response and patient care and enrich our education and research around better patient outcomes.
